Martha Stewart touched on the topic of her controversial Halloween costume, explaining that her appearance alongside Craig Melvin on Today accidentally caused the costume. The lifestyle mogul said the host spilled chocolate ganache on the white sweater she had planned to wear for Halloween during the show’s Oct. 30 episode, leaving her with just 10 minutes to get dressed for a party. Stewart said she used the soiled clothing, ragged layers and a sign reading “I’m hungry” for a costume depicting a homeless person. After the photo sparked criticism, Stewart deleted it and said she was “distressed” that the outfit had offended people, explaining her intent was to bring awareness to homelessness. In a separate since-deleted statement, the cookbook author acknowledged that her first apology “didn’t go far enough,” adding that the costume was “insensitive and not funny” and that she was “very sorry.” Full Story: https://www.eonline.com/news/1437840/martha-stewart-blames-todays-craig-melvin-for-homeless-halloween-costume
