Hailey Bieber reflected on her experience with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) after giving birth to her and husband Justin Bieber’s son Jack. The Rhode Beauty founder told Women’s Wear Daily in an interview published Oct. 30, “I feel really drawn to women’s health. As a woman, I feel frustrated by the lack of research, the lack of awareness, the lack of certain conversation around it.” PMDD—similar to premenstrual syndrome (PMS) but more intense—often occurs within two weeks before the menstrual cycle begins, causing symptoms like severe depression, irritability and tension, according to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office on Women’s Health.
